You’ve seen the
Total Gym XLS on TV, the infomercials pretty much tell you what there is about this home gym. Maybe you don’t expect this from a product to be that good, maybe just another rip off that gets too much air time. But, it is
really good fitness equipment and one that for the price and exercises you get, it is a great choice.
The standard model is good as it is, it comes with an exercise chart that has the 80 exercises you can do with the XLs explained, plus four DVD’s for added motivation, expanded Pilates Kit, and you can add a Video display, extra padding for more comfort, all with a 400 pounds user weight.

The Total Gym XLS uses from 6% to 60% of your body weight as resistance for your exercises. You have more than 80 exercises that can be done with this simple and yet effective glider. These exercises are explained to you in the DVD’s and also you have them in workout plans that are in cards that you can choose depending on your workout goals.
Total Gym also has another model that looks very much like the XLS, which is the Total Gym 3000. At first they both do not have many differences, maybe the XLS is larger and it has a stronger construction, like an upgraded version of the 3000. And this just may not be enough for you to pay the difference.
So, what really makes it worth to pay more for the XLS? The extras. The Total Gym XLS has more extra features than the 3000 model, and these make a difference. For instance, the XLS has the training deck, a pilates kit, the upgraded squat stand, and other options.
In the end there isn’t much distance between the two models, but if you can afford to buy the XLS, then this model is the best choice between the two. If you can’t afford the XLs, then even if you buy the 3000, you won’t regret it; it still is a good choice for a home gym and none that will fill your needs for fitness exercise.

The
Total Gym 3000 seems like an easy to use home gym with nothing much to it. well, one thing is true, it is easy to use, but there is much more to say about this little fellow that what the eye meets.
It has lots of exercises and you still have a squat platform which gives you great options to work out your legs
The only good competition that the 3000 can get is from the 2000 model from the same series of Home Gyms of Total Gym, but even so, the 3000 is the best choice, and for the difference in price you might as well just buy the 3000 and get it done with.

The Total Gym 3000 is way ahead of the 2000. It adds more exercises due to the accessories: a Standard Squat Stand and a Wing Attachment. Which adds to the fact that the best exercises with this machine are for your legs, so the Squat platform only enhances that for you.
It is also built with better materials, we can’t say that it was built to last a lifetime, but it has a solid and sturdy construction. Besides feeling more stable than the 2000 it is also more comfortable, Total Gym added better padding to the 3000.
In general it has the same exercises as the 2000 and other models from the Total Gym catalog. It includes an exercise chart that will show you the positioning to exercise over 60 different ways. And it also has a DVD with all that you can do with the Total Gym 3000. It almost comes out of the box ready to use, and it is easy to store it away, even if it is a bit heavy.
It is a great choice for someone who is looking to lose fat and get in great shape. You can increase your cardio fitness level and do some strength exercises. For better results you do not need to be limited to the 3000, you can do some exercises by your own, some jogging and there you have all that you need to keep in good shape.

If you can afford, we recommend the 3000 over other models from Total Gym, and if you have some extra dollars you should take a look at the Total Gym XLS, another great choice.
