Top 3 Places That I Turn To When I Need a Little Motivation

We’ve already established in previous posts that it isn’t always easy to stay motivated while training at home.  Working out at home is very convenient, but sometimes it’s hard to stay focused and motivated.  Here are a few of the things that I do when I start to feel my motivation slipping away.

As a home gym junkie who flies solo through most of my workouts, I sometimes think that one of the biggest drawbacks to training exclusively at home is the lack of feedback and the lack of assistance that you get at a fitness center. This can make it challenging to overcome notoriously frustrating training plateaus.

Since I’m basically a positive person, I like to minimize drawbacks in anything I do. So, instead of giving up my home gym luxuries for a more interactive setting, I figured out some ways to bust through my training plateaus on my own. Here’s what’s worked for me.

Coming Indoors for the Winter

I much prefer working out in the great outdoors. But, in some parts of the country, like the part I live in, this becomes much more difficult at this time of the year. Staying motivated to lace up my running shoes and hit the streets when it’s cold and rainy is not easy. Never mind [...]

After high school I joined the Marine Corps and you can bet, I had plenty of people in the Marines to motivate me as well.  I also taught aerobics [...]
